The load bolt offers additional support during extreme conditions such as tire shake
The steel tip is initially adjusted very close to the backside of the ring gear
If deflection occurs, it provides added support to engagement of the ring and pinion

Will Not Work With Lightened Ring Gears
Ring gears from some manufacturers are pre-lightened
